Key Priorities:

Employment

  • High rates of unemployment – likely to be exacerbated by the impacts of COVID-19

  • Lack of employment opportunities in Bristol caused by biased recruitment and retention practice

  • Limited opportunities for career advancement

Enterprise

  • Disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on businesses and business owners

  • Inequitable access to funding and resources

  • Lack of support for local businesses and business owners

  • Apprenticeships: Pool resources and designate Bristol’s apprenticeship levy across all city organisations to deliver a 2-year apprenticeship program, targeting higher level professionals in Black and Minoritised communities

 Long-term actions

  • Apprenticeships: Evaluate and measure the success of the 2-year apprenticeship program, improving and expanding upon the initiative to serve an even wider population
